Play in Clay -- At Night

In this popular class, we will guide you through a fun hands-on lesson that covers the basics of wheel throwing, wedging, centering, opening, and raising. This is a great way to get your hands muddy, learn some basic pottery techniques and decide if wheel throwing is something that you would like to explore further through one of our many other classes.

Your instructor, Denise Palmer has been playing with clay for about 15 years. She throws mostly decorative pieces and loves to play with form, texture and design. She also enjoys exploring new styles and unique slip techniques. Having spent the last 21 years as an Internet Consultant, Denise finds her pottery work is a great way to clear her mind and give herself permission to color outside of the lines. She believes it helps her to be a better person and it brings her absolute joy!

Please wear appropriate clothing for getting clay on, trim your fingernails, tie back long hair and remove any hand accessories. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that participants bring a towel to drape across their lap.

The last 15 minutes of the class will be set aside so that students have time to clean up their work area.

Class may be canceled due to low enrollment in which case a full refund will be issued.
